Issued by the Constitutional Army in Chihuahua. National arms with Popocatepetl and Ixtaccihuatl (volcanoes) in background at center. Liberty cap and rays at center on back.

The Mexican volcanoes have given rise to many legends. The Iztaccihuatl whose name in nahuatl means white woman and the Popocatepetl that means steamer hill.  They have been witnesses of the history and life of Mexico.  They are situated in the Center of Mexico, approximately to 40 miles southwest of Mexico City.  These volcanoes have been matter of inspiration for poets such as Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz and writers as Alejandro of Humbolt. Famous painters such  as Jose Maria Velasco and Diego Rivera have pictured them in their murials on the wall of “”The National Palace”” in Mexico City.
